As a concert cellist and teaching lover, my relationship with music is one of engagement: with the composers, with the audience, and with my students.
I want my love of music to be conveyed on stage and in the classrooms in a spirit of communion. I aim to connect with the audience and young performers who trust my technique and my vision of music as a means of communication and social transformation. For this reason, I encourage the young artists to preserve the rich treasure of tradition to offer it to the audience, but at the same time challenge them to constantly expand their imagination and independence as much as possible to ensure innovation.
It is important as a musician and teacher to also devote yourself to the music of today. This is the only way to convey music across generations and cultures.
I understand the cello as an instrument that resembles the human voice in its warmth. This warmth needs to be transformed into the most beautiful sound and this is a research I do together with the students.
All this, with a special emphasis on the awareness of the technique, with the firm will that the students keep in mind every detail of what they perform and transmit. I teach them how to solve technical problems clearly and with the ultimate goal of achieving maximum expressiveness. This is achieved through methodology and effort and a holistic approach to the work of the instrument, with the body-mind-emotion as the basis for the best interpretation. I wish that the effort and enthusiasm will shape the musical path of those who follow in my footsteps.
